Silvery Yours

(Written Meant for dVerse prompt: Quadrille #183, A Sliver Silver of a Poem posted on 4 Sep 2023)

I misread the prompt word as Silver in place of Sliver and came to know about it only after Colleen’s lovely comment “How wonderful… but Kim’s word is “sliver.” I also like it with silver. LOL! 💟” That is why I like poet fraternity; always kind hearted. A totally invalid entry but she still appreciates it. I owe you a thousand thanks, Collen! more than anything, for having a real poetic heart. Having deleted it promptly, I am reinstating it just to remind you all that you must not work on your tab or the laptop unless you are on with your own spectacles.  😍😁

If only I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth,

I would never bother about,

Whether my fate-cloud had any silver lining,

It ain’t…

But I could have ensured that I was silver tongued

Alas! Even that I could not ensure.    (44 words)

dVerse prompt: Quadrille #183, A Sliver of a Poem written in 44 words

1 minute , , , ,
The dVerse prompt hosted by Kim from Writing in North Norfolk, bringing you the Quadrille, when we take any meaning or form of one word and transform it into 44 poetic words. Today, she wants us to write a poem of exactly 44 words (not counting your title), including the word SLIVER.
Cheesecake—rich, creamy
a simple pleasure of life
divine ambrosia
on a graham cracker crust

temptation beckons
only a sliver will do
cut me off a slice
of my guiltiest delight

right now, the scale can wait
tomorrow's another day
today is all about cheesecake
