Differently Yours

( Written for Reena’s Xploration Challenge #308 )

You so divine, me so human,
You so alkaline, me so neutral,
You so pliant, me so rigid,
You so vibrant me so arid.

You so commanding, me so loyal,
You so demanding, me so liberal,
You so beautiful, me so faithful,
You so special, me so general.

You being a good mother,
let me be a good father, too.
You being a good daughter,
Let me be a good son, too.
then, things that keep us together despite the differences –
undeterred love for each other and
unshaken gratitude towards Him up there.

At the outset, let me thank each participant, reader and visitor on this blog for enriching my life in some way – knowingly or unknowingly.

It is great to know what someone across the seven seas, someone I may never meet physically thinks and how they respond to my words. It is enlightening to know that we connect at some level, vibrate to similar frequencies and use the same language.

I’ve chosen a quote from Rumi, and an AI-generated image (grateful to AI too) inspired by Rumi.

“ Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life. ”

You are free to use either the image or the quote, or both as your inspiration in this week.

There is no restriction on format of the piece. There is no last date either, unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

Any post that is found to be offensive, vulgar or something that hurts common sensibilities will not be included. This needs to be a safe space.

  1. Beautiful!

It reminded me of Hindi lines I read ages ago

    “Mana tu soundarya ki devi
Tu hai poorna, tu hai dhanya

    Ashtavakra meri prakriti
    To apraadh kaun jaghanya”

    1. Firstly, my kudos for your knowledge of Hindi poetry of this level. Respectfully, of whatever Hindi I know of, I say that here the word ” Asthavakra prakriti” probably denotes the partner’s nature that is of a little vagrant or insincere kind whereas both are of very sincere type the way I have assumed them in the read. Nonetheless, excellent and thoughtful comment and I thank you for that.
