Colourfully Yours

( Written for What do you see # 208 posted on October 16, 2023)

She has always been smiling, innocently

We never cared…

She has always been sprinkling colours, impartially

We never bothered….

She has always been trying to fly high, unrestrictedly

We never allowed…

She has always been harmonizing, sweetly

We never resonated…

She will keep on doing what she does best…

Will we also be doing what we do best or….. otherwise!!!

What do you see # 208

Good evening and see you next time.

Does this picture inspire you to write something?

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a woman standing in front of a brightly painted wall. In her hands, she is holding 5-6 balloons in different shapes- a couple of emojis, a giant cone, a slice of watermelon! Her face is obscured by these balloons.

Waiting eagerly for your responses.

Thanking you all for joining this prompt.

  1. Your words serve as a gentle reminder to embrace the genuine beauty and innocence in the world around us, while staying true to our own authentic selves. Thank you for this beautiful reflection.

  2. Such a deep and thought provoking poem JM! It shows how we, the majority of people don’t let those who want to fly free, do so. Thanks for joining in.

  3. Perhaps referring to the girl child who continues to try to express her true potential despite no support, in some sections of society……so well written, resonated.

    1. Yes, it could be a girl child one knows of, a child in one’s inner self or maybe some bubbling humane virtues suppressed in oneself…
      My sincere thanks.
