( Written for “SoCS” last thing that broke/you had to fix by Linda G. Hill )

Yes, I broke your heart, I remember…
I repent that, unintentional it was,
and now,

I have all sincere intentions to mend it,
Though we both know,
Its not required anymore,
For, even mine is with you now.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Oct. 14, 2023

Good evening and see you next time.

Linda’s Guidelines-

Today seems to be Friday, so I’m here with your Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. The last week has felt more like a year, hasn’t it? Just me? Here’s this week’s prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “last thing that broke/you had to fix.” Think about the word that best describes the last thing that stopped working for you and use that word any way you’d like. Enjoy!

After you’ve written your Saturday post tomorrow, please link it here to this week’s prompt page and check to make sure it’s here in the comments so others can find it and see your awesome Stream of Consciousness post. Anyone can join in!

To make your post more visible, use our beautiful SoCS badge! Just paste it in your Saturday post so people browsing the reader will immediately know your post is stream of consciousness and/or pin it as a widget to your site to show you’re a participant. Wear it with pride!!

Here are the rules:

1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing (typos can be fixed), and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.

2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.

3. I will post the prompt here on my blog every Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a particular subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The,’” or will simply be a single word to get you started.

4. Ping back! It’s important, so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours.  Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top. NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, such as Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read all of them! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later or go to the previous week by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find below the “Like” button on my post.

6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!

7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.

8. Have fun!

  1. Sadje – I am writing to express my opinion, share my experiences and to maybe provide some insight. My blog is addressing women at 50 ( but men are welcome to read my posts) ,their issues and the questions that come up at this stage in life. I don’t aim to teach, but to learn together.

  2. Cheryl, Gulf Coast Poet – A retired teacher and mother of three adult children, I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida with my soulmate, Robert. Leisure activities include discussing current events with Robert, watching movies, and playing Scrbble. Robert usually wins! I also enjoy going to the beach and taking road trips with my daughters. One of our favorite pastimes is observing the wonderful wildlife that surrounds us. I keep busy writing poetry, and I would be delighted if you visited my website!

Very comforting to think that reconciliations are possible. Beautifully written, JM! Have a great week! 🙂 ❤

    1. This is your speciality- You always have the positive and humane side of the story read first…. Much thanks for that more than anything else, Cheryl. Wish you a great week your way…

  3. 100 Country Trek – Hello. Nice to meet you. My journey to cover as much of the world as possible began in Costa Rica in 2003. This is a story in itself, but for now I'll tell the short version . On a hike around Manuel Antonio I started chatting with a fellow hiker from Belgium. He told me he had a trip planned to visit Borneo within a few weeks of his return home. He then went on to say he had been to at least fifty different countries. That was when the travel bug bit me. I haven't stopped going since and the journey has been so incredible . It is here that I will share some of the incredible travel experiences .

  4. Lakshmi Bhat – I am a person who believes there is not enough darkness in the world to extinguish the light of a small candle. We live in a small place in South India. I love reading, blogging, stitching, traveling, photography, listening to people and many other things which make life so very nice and interesting. Blogging is a fun experience, it has brought me into contact with people in different parts of the world and it is good to read about their everyday life. In spite of the differences there is a sameness which is fascinating. I have learnt and am learning something everyday. I have learnt to write Haikus, Ovi and other forms of poetry. I enjoy combining the thought and the number of syllables. I have always read books and I was happy to write short fiction. I had thought I would not be able to do so. Stream of Consciousness and photo challenges are fun too. Yes, there is so much in life that is sad and that hurts us. Many a time I wonder why life is so unfair to so many. We all have problems in life but the problems of many seems unbearable. This makes me feel so helpless. It is not possible to help everyone but we can do our bit, we can do something to help some in whatever way we can. Due to the pandemic I could not go to the Home for the mentally challenged for two years. I had been going there since 2011. I have started going again. I was happy that some members remembered me :) All of them are an important part of my life. There have been many challenges in life and we have faced them with a positive approach. Our grandson and granddaughter have made our lives richer.

Hope yours is not broken next 😊

Why One More Blog??? This world is full of ideas, ideals, thoughts, stories, anecdotes, and so on, As a tiny creature of this vast universe, I too have, Some unique, Some similar to others, And some probably inspired by my elders, Some sweet, some bitter, Sometimes spicy too, Some close to heart, Some closer to mind, Sharing of the same, May be of some value to others, Most of the targeted audience however, May not possibly come across, But I have to bring the same in black and white, No, no, it’s not कीड़ा Wriggling to come out of me, Neither literary diarrhoea nor mental indigestion, It’s rather my responsibility to share my experiences, What I have received from this great society, What I have felt about it, And how I was dealt with, Will attempt to download what has been uploaded throughout the life, Before, yes before… my memory may start fading away, Before L of YOLO (You Only Live Once) comes to an end, Else, the whole thing will go away, Unsaid, unlettered, unsung…sheer waste, Let others get some ideas, To make their L a bit better, It’s up to them, Let me do my part…
