Interestingly Yours

( Written for Reena’s Xploration Challenge #296 posted on Sep 7, 2023)

Fiction in the time of fake news-

Will lead to “The end of imagination” since fake news shall have all the imaginations.

Letters in the time of instant messaging-

What will then happen to “Things that Can and Cannot be said“, delicate enough not to be captured in messaging.

Books in the time of apps-

will be unthinkable like “The Ordinary Person’s Guide to Empire“, an absurd thought.

Lies in the post-truth era

shall become a part of “The cost of living” as day today affairs.

Human proficiency in ChatGPT era-

will either make humans “The God of small things” or demon of crudest things?

Freedom in the times of listening devices –

Will it not be something like “Listening to Grasshoppers“?

Weekly prompt #296

A phrase by Arundhati Roy (winner of the Booker Prize for fiction in 1997) caught my attention –

Fiction in the time of fake news.

I coined a few of my own inspired by it.

Feel free to coin some of your own in the same spirit, or use one or more from the above, including the inspiration from Arundhati Roy, and base your piece on it.

There is no restriction on format of the piece. There is no last date either, unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

Any post that is found to be offensive, vulgar or something that hurts common sensibilities will not be included. This needs to be a safe space.

Create a post on your blog, and copy-paste the link in Comments. In case you are using a pingback, do check back to see if it has worked.

  1. You made the “shape of the beast” hover on the horizon of “Power Politics” before “The Algebra of Infinite Justice” could take us to the “Ministry of Utmost Happiness.”
