W3 Prompt #101: Wea’ve Written Weekly

Good afternoon and see you next time…

Guidelines- Welcome to our W3 Poetry Prompt, which goes live on Wednesdays at The Skeptic’s Kaddish. You may click here for a fuller explanation of W:  Val’s (Murisopsis’) prompt guidelines

  • Form: Cameo;
    • Heptastich (a poem in 7 lines);
    • Syllabic: 2-5-8-3-8-7-2 syllables per line;
    • Unrhymed, but end words should be strong.
  • Theme: Love
  • The Cameo form represents England and is the 5th prompt in the Around the World Scavenger Hunt. As well as the W3 poetry prompt!! The Cameo was created by English poet Alice Spokes as an exercise in rhythm. It consists of 7 lines unrhymed with a syllable count of 2/5/8/3/8/7/2. The end words of each line should be strong. And of course you probably already figured out that the theme for the scavenger hunt and the W3 challenge is love but not just Romantic/Erotic love but some of the other types!
