Don’t ignore,

never ever!

for I want to be,

inside your heart- in veins,

in mind, emotions and throbs,

you love or hate, I live with you….

if you ignore, I become lifeless!!!

Guidelines-

Dear friends,

Welcome to our W3 Poetry Prompt, which goes live on Wednesdays at The Skeptic’s Kaddish.

You may click here for a fuller explanation of W3; but here’s the ‘tldr’ version:

Part I

The main ingredient of W3 is a weekly poem written by a Poet of the Week (PoW), which participants read before participating in the prompt.

Part II

The second ingredient is a writing guideline (or two) provided by the PoW. Guidelines may include, but are not limited to: word counts, poetic forms, inclusion of specific words, and use of particular poetic devices.

Part III

After five days, when the prompt closes, the PoW shall select one participant’s poem as the W3 prompt for the following week, and its author becomes the next PoW.

Dectina Refrain

  • Ten lines;
  • Syllabic: 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10;
  • The tenth line is comprised of the first four lines all together, as one stand alone line in quotation marks. (apparently the quotation marks are optional.)

III. Submit: Click on ‘Mr. Linky’ below

In order to participate and share a poem, open up this blog post, outside of the WordPress reader. At the bottom, just below these words, you will see a small rectangular graphic with the words ‘Mr Linky’. Click on that to submit.

  1. Sadje – I am writing to express my opinion, share my experiences and to maybe provide some insight. My blog is addressing women at 50 ( but men are welcome to read my posts) ,their issues and the questions that come up at this stage in life. I don’t aim to teach, but to learn together.

  2. Cheryl, Gulf Coast Poet – A retired teacher and mother of three adult children, I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida with my soulmate, Robert. Leisure activities include discussing current events with Robert, watching movies, and playing Scrbble. Robert usually wins! I also enjoy going to the beach and taking road trips with my daughters. One of our favorite pastimes is observing the wonderful wildlife that surrounds us. I keep busy writing poetry, and I would be delighted if you visited my website!

  3. brazannemuse – My husband says I am a nightmare, actually, a ”complex nightmare”, said with love and understanding of course! In truth the phrase probably does sum me up which is why I will use it. Explanation:- • Complex due to my thoughts being varied, deep and even conflicting • Nightmare due to their constant, numerous and consuming nature. I am an emotional writer, finding writing a medium with which to express myself; I find this difficult verbally and am averse to any conflict. I am creative and artistic at work and hobbies; (working in jewellery) but only have enthusiasm for “bespoke” creations. I find it difficult to label a theme to my writing but recently am enjoying learning and experimenting with different forms of poetry. A few very difficult years emotionally have drawn me to this genre. Somehow, I am finding more clarity in my thoughts by using words that are not always so clear, or even placed in a structure that take me out of my comfort zone.... hmmm work that one out LOL. I am excited to see what I write, as it is a total surprise to me every time; but draws me.... My life experiences are such that I have a personal view on most subjects and if you follow me you may find my topics to be what my daughter would call “random”. Even when my focus is dark, I am actually a positive person by nature and have found strength to get through many obstacles in life - even if some "down" times are more lengthy than others ; maybe it is in my DNA - my blood group is B+ (be positive)! If you have read this, welcome to a bit of my world ....

    Such a true message conveyed so well …. love and hate are both so deep, sad how love can turn to hate, how lovely if hate could turn to love. Hate and love really can’t be ignored – I really like your line “if you ignore, I become lifeless!!!” so true, probably the most hurtful thing you can do to someone …

    Delightful! It isn’t healthy (for mental health or for the health of a relationship) to ignore emotions especially strong ones like love and hate!

  11. This (the part about being in heart, mind, emotions, veins) reminds me of a poem I wrote once about wanting to crawl inside someone’s body. I wish I still had it.
