Drench my eyes with remorse and repentance,

For all the things I should have done but I couldn’t,

How I wish it would rain down, down on me.

Do asperges on my soul for the deceits & betrayals,

That I did with other’s trust which I shouldn’t,

How I wish it would rain down, down on me.

Would bathe me O! Lord for true confessions,

On humane promises I ought to have kept but I couldn’t,

How I wish it would rain down, down on me.

Guidelines- Welcome back to another week of incessant rains! Well, that is the weather in my part of the world.

Rains bring so much to mind – metaphorical, meteorological, geographical, poetic, natural beauty, floods. Prompt # 289- “Rain”

Let the thoughts flood your mind. You may use the word “rain’ in your piece in any form.

Alternatively, I found a picture which is experimental on Unsplash.

You may choose one or both as your muse this week.

There is no restriction on format of the piece. There is no last date either, unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.
