(Written for : David’s W3 Prompt #57: Wea’ve Written Weekly)

I am using both the prompt images for the poem as below; the one to the left as a metaphor for earthly and humanly ways that mind aligns with and the one to the right as a metaphor for aspirations to fly higher via dreams/magic/miracles sought for etc.

Desire longs to fly with magical zeal,

Mind yearns to stick to time’s wheel.

In dreams, our aspirations take flight,

Yearning to reach all celestial height,

But grounded, we find solace and mirth,

Embracing the joys of this earthly birth.

let us all dream, let us all aspire,

To elevate our souls, to reach higher,

But let us find joy in earthly delights,

For life’s true magic resides in earthly sights.

Aspiration, unbound by heavenly things,

Our spirit uplifted, as an angel with wings,

Let us cherish this mortal ground,

Where life’s wonders and beauty abound.

Desire longs to fly with magical zeal,

Mind yearns to stick to time’s wheel.
